Don't Know Much About History, But I Do Know That I Love Free Books
4:03 PM
Dang, now I've got that song running through my head: Don't know much about history/Don't know much biology/But I do know that I love you, and I know that if you loved me, too, what a wonderful world this would be. I think I see American Idol in my future ... hee hee.
Anyway ... I received two copies of Don't Know Much About Anything Else by Kenneth C. Davis by mistake, so Davis' publicist has authorized me to give one away. Yay! The book is one in a series about all kinds of subjects, and features random facts about everything from Andrew Lloyd Webber to Flag Day to Ohio. I've only skimmed the information, but it looks fun and interesting.
So, what do you have to do to snag your very own copy? Just leave a comment on this post telling me about one subject you "Don't Know Much About." Comments must be in by midnight on September 30. Good luck!

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.
P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!

Dang, now I'm going to be singing that song all night too!
ReplyDeleteLet's see... one thing about which I know very little about is art and art history. I can't keep the names of the various periods and styles and schools straight to save my life.
This book looks like it'd be fun to browse through. Please enter me!
Don't know much about World War I and would love a cram course...so considered me entered, please.
ReplyDeleteBotany! I think I have a brown thumb...
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about science!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I don't know much about anatomy. My sister's taking the class right now, and it sounds way too intense for me! :D
ReplyDeleteOK Susan, because we have a lack of books here, I am going to play. Although you are aware of many things that I don't know much about...I would have to go with the Revolutionary period. Ever since I have watched the National Treasure movies I have been interested in that time period. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about elementary school boys' fashion...just ask my kids.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about...small engine repair. Please throw my name in!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about Russian history. So many long names, place names that keep changing...I did terrible on the unit of Russian history in high school.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about cooking and gardening... so I always need some help!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a really fun book!
ReplyDeleteI always tell my kids "I know nothin'!"
But what I really don't know much about is politics. Or sports. Or the stock market. Or...
See what I mean.
I definitely don't know much about Flag Day in Ohio!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to pick an area when there are so many... I would have to say I don't know much about the stock market, Wall street, the economy etc., and I'm scrambling to figure it all out in light of current events. I have a long list of terms written down on the subject that I need translated: derivatives, hedge funds, monaline insurers--I seriously need a "dummy" book!
ReplyDeleteMATH - in fact, anything related to geometry, algebra, fractions, trigonometry,.....argh....math! I try to look like I know what I am talking about when doing homework with my 9 year old but really .... I know nothing!! (Shhh - don't tell him!!)
ReplyDeleteDon't know much about astronomy! This book could help! Thanks for the chance.

I don't know much about organic chemisty. I would've failed that course without the curve! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting book. Sign me up please!

I don't know much about gardening. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about cooking. My kitchen is mostly for decorative purposes.

Count me in too. I don't know much about the nitty gritty of all this financial crisis stuff. How do banks work, etc.???
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you about the adoption! We'll pray for all to go well, and that the little birth mother will realize what a favor she would be doing her baby. Love you Lots. Mom
I don't know much about politics! Do I really want to learn?:) By the way, I love your blog! I have found so many books I want to read!
