My Friday's Hoppin'. How 'bout yours?

I haven't done the Book Blogger Hop for a few weeks and since I've got such a fun giveaway going on right now, I thought I'd join in the fun. You should, too. Check out all the details over at Crazy For Books.

This week's question is: What genre of books do you wish you could really get into, but you just can't?

- I would have to say non-fiction in general. It's not that I don't read any non-fiction, but what I do read tends to be memoirs, cookbooks or self-help type stuff. I wish I could get into reading more about history, science, politics, etc. - I would be a whole lot smarter if I could!

How 'bout you?

If you're new to BBB, welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by. If you've been here before, welcome back. Please take a look around, leave me a comment or two, enter my giveaway and please leave me a link to your blog so I can return the favor. I love finding new blogs!

  1. Thanks for stopping by! I'm a fan of certain kinds of non fiction books (science or philosophy). I also currently stay out home with my little one, and use blogging to cope! Haha :D

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog - I'm a new follower here. I can't get into much nonfiction either, but that could be due to all my reading from school, haha :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. That would have been my answer six months ago. This year, I've actually managed to read four or five nonfiction books though. I can't imagine I'll start getting really into nonfiction, but I like to read books about history sometimes, and I read the occasional memoir.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  4. I like certain non-fiction but it's mostly stuff I'm already interested in. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Fantasy. I hate it. I know, shocking, right? My brain just doesn't wrap around it.

And any book that doesn't have some romance had better be dang good or I'm putting it down. Good thing you're way out in AZ. I might get popped for that one.

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am now following you. I know what you mean about non-fiction. I tend to avoid it unless it something I really want to read about.

  7. I guess the only reason i put off with non fiction is its hard to get a good non fiction book and they take a bit long to read

  8. I'd have to agree with you on this one. I do read non-fiction but not nearly as often as I should.

  9. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I also wish I could get more into nonfiction.

  10. Nice to meet you! I find I love starting nonfiction books, but have a hard time finishing them. But like another commenter for some reason I have been reading a lot more this year.

  11. I can't get into science fiction or fantasy much. I like stories about regular folks in regular hard circumstances who figure a way out -- or try their best anyway..

    adventure, non-fiction..fiction.
    just not science fiction.

    enjoyed reading here :)

  13. Take a walk through the nonfiction section of your library. Pick a title that tickles your fancy.

Since last week's pie chart about where I get my books was so popular, I thought I'd share what types of books I do read. Please stop by to see which genres I don't typically read.

  14. thanks for coming by! fiction can be a toughie to read - i enjoy foodie non-fiction (like you) and i found that malcolm gladwell (economics but so much more) is a great way to ease myself into non-fiction, one chapter at a time!

  15. Well, I got pretty fed up with non-fiction books as of lately; read enough of them for my studies, and I must confess I don't really feel much smart-efied by them, lol.

Whatever shivers teh timbers, that's what you should read, that's what I always say. There's no better or worse path, if we like it, then it's the right stuff :D

Love your place, and thank you for stopping by mine!

  16. I'm with you on the non-fiction thing. I guess I'd just rather get lost in a fictional world and let my imagination run free, so I tend to stay away from non-fiction for the most part and when I do read it, I can't wait to get back to fiction lol

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.

P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!
