A Little (Okay, A Lot) Challenged

Another of my favorite things about New Year in the book blogging world is that it means new reading challenges.  Who cares that I rarely actually complete the challenges I sign up for?  They're a fun way to help me expand my reading horizons.  For 2015, I'm going to limit myself to two (at least for now):

For the last few years I've had fun keeping track of the states that the books I read take place in, so I'm going to continue to do so via the Reading Road Trip Challenge.  Hosted by She's Got Books on Her Mind, it encourages participants to read books that take place in each state.  You don't have to commit to all 50 states—there are different levels to enjoy.  I'm going to go for broke and be an Adventurer!

FYI:  The Where Are You Reading Challenge? hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey is very similar to this one.

Since I get tons of reading ideas from other bloggers, I think GeekyZooGirl's Book Blogger Recommendation Challenge is right up my alley:

The challenge involves reading books from a long list of bloggers' favorites.  You can choose different levels.  I'm going for Platinum—25 books from the list.  I've been meaning to read all of these anyway:

1.  Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
2.  Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
3.  Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
4.  Graceling by Kristin Cashore
5.  If I Stay by Gayle Forman
6.  Where she Went by Gayle Forman
7.  Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
8.  Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
9.  Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger
10.  A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
11.  Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
12.  The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
13.  Landline by Rainbow Rowell
14.  Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King
15.  The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
16.  One Plus One by Jojo Moyes
17.  Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
18.  The Rosie Project by Graeme Simison
19.  The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay
20.  We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver
21.  The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
22.  Word Freak by Stefan Fatsis
23.  Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein
24.  Pointe by Brandy Colbert
25.  Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

As always, I'll keep track of my progress on all reading challenges on the right sidebar of my blog.  Wish me luck!

  1. I'm doing the Road Trip Challenge as well. I've never really kept track of WHERE the books I was reading are located so I'm excited. It sounds like such fun! The Blogger Recommendation Challenge sounds like lots of fun. There's so many great books on that list! Good luck!

  3. Awesome another Adventurer! Welcome to the challenge.
I actually should mention that Where Are You Reading is similar. A couple of people are pairing both challenges up which should result in some fun reads (:

    1. I've been doing the Where Are You Reading Challenge for the last few years. I'm doing yours this year because it seems more interactive, but combining them would be fun, too!

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.

P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!
