Ooooh, temperatures in the 80s sound amazing right now! Ugh on the humidity, though. I definitely prefer Arizona's dry heat, although if I had my druthers there would be no heat at all, just nice, cool 60s all the time. Ahhhhh...

Most of my ancestors came here in the 1800s, although I do have some who were in Massachusetts a few years after the Mayflower landed. They worked and fought for their rights and freedoms and I'm very proud of that. They loved this country, as do I.

I'm about halfway through A DISTANCE TOO GRAND. A VIEW MOST GLORIOUS is next for me. I'm enjoying the series a lot - it's clean but not cheesy and it's got much more going on than just romance. I'm excited to see where it goes. Glad I'm not the only fan!

They do, don't they? Hist-fic cover designers definitely need to branch out a little bit, but I do like when similar books have similar-ish covers so I kind of know what to expect.

Doesn't WHERE I LEFT HER sound creepy? I can't count how many times I've dropped my kids off at a friend's house without REALLY knowing the family. I always keep my fingers crossed that they will be safe and tell them to call me if anything about a situation feels off. It's a scary world out there!

Ha ha. It's really not very nice of Arizona to spread its hellish weather around! At least here we're prepared for it with a/c, swimming pools, etc. Poor Washington isn't prepared! I'd move back there in a heartbeat, even considering its *occasional* high temps. Stay cool!

Ugh, I can't imagine! I remember roasting in the summers when I was growing up in Washington. We would hide in the basement because it was so much cooler down there. Upstairs was like an oven!

I know what you mean. I have just read one written by a German who moved to the States. I'll be reviewing it soon, I think you might be interested in it. It's called "Belonging" and written by Nora Krug.

I'm sure if you google Celia Imrie, you will have seen her somewhere (e.g. Mama Mia, here we go again! comes to mind, though she only has a small role there). She is a very popular British actress.

My hope for our country is always for peace. We should be able to handle different opinions, different lifestyles, different viewpoints. I hate that things have felt so divisive over the last couple years. I constantly pray for peace!

Definitely not a topic you come across very often in books - at least not the ones I've read! My brother was in the Coast Guard for a long time, so I've heard about his adventures, but I've never heard anything about Coast Guard action during the war. I'm interested to learn more.

The heat in Arizona is INTENSE, that's for sure! Apparently, we got a little bit of rain while we were gone. We also ran into quite a lot of it while driving through Flagstaff and then again in parts of Utah. Both states really need it.

We came home a day earlier than planned, but we had a wonderful trip! It was great to see family and to enjoy beautiful scenery. Utah is lovely. It is good to be home, though!
