Merry Christmas!
3:47 AM
The good thing about being up at 4:30 a.m. on Christmas morning with a low blood sugar episode is that it's peaceful and calm in my home. Just me, the glowing tree, and a cup of eggnog to treat my low. In years past, my kids would be wide awake at this hour, too excited to sleep and begging to be able to open their presents. Now, I only have teenagers at home. If we didn't have church at 9, they probably wouldn't wake up until noon, even on this special day! I'm headed back to bed myself, but I wanted to take advantage of this quiet moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I appreciate your loyal readership more than you know. The book blogosphere is a wonderful place to hang out because of you. I hope your holiday is full of warmth, joy, love, laughter, and hopefully, some bookish goodness under the tree!

Comments make me feel special, so go crazy! Just keep it clean and civil. Feel free to speak your mind (I always do), but be aware that I will delete any offensive comments.
P.S.: Don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away. I have to approve each one before it posts to prevent spam. It's annoying, but it works!

Merry Christmas! I hope, once everyone wakes up, that you have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Helen! We did have a nice holiday. Hope you did as well.

ReplyDeleteI did, Jenni! I hope you did as well.
DeleteI hope you had a Merry Christmas, Susan! I got to sleep in yesterday because my sacrament mtng. didn't start until 11:30. It was a very nice Christmas gift. :D
ReplyDeleteNice! Ours was at 9 as usual, so we were up at the same time. We'll be at 11:30 in the new year. I prefer an earlier start, but at least we'll get to sleep in now. That might be nice.
DeleteHope you had a nice Christmas, Susan! We had a good time with our kids and enjoyed a nice, quiet time. And I finally finished a book and another one and I'm well into another one. Hoping my horrible book slump is over for good. Please!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for a nice, quiet Christmas and for getting out of your reading slump. Sounds like a good week!
DeleteMerry Christmas! There is something special about being up alone in the quiet morning.
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's very peaceful, especially with the Christmas tree glowing softly. Calming and festive, both.
DeleteI'm late, but Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deanna!
DeleteI hope you had a good Christmas! I wake up at 4 almost every morning because I need a few hours of quiet before the chaos starts.
ReplyDeleteI used to get up at 5 when my kids were little so I could have a couple hours to myself before they were up and needing my attention. It was worth waking up at the crack of dawn!
DeleteMerry Christmas! Our Christmas definitely starts a bit later now that Will is almost a teenager and while I'm not sad about getting to sleep in it's definitely strange!
ReplyDeleteRight? It's nice, but weird.
DeleteI hope you're doing well and had a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lucy! I had a great Christmas with family and friends. The past few days have been nice and quiet, too.
DeleteMerry Christmas, Susan! I hope you all have a fabulous day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy! It was a lovely day. Hope yours was as well.
DeleteI had to smile while reading your post. Not because of your low sugar episode, I know all about that, so wish you all the best. But about your teenagers. They are all the same. That was the same in our house. Enjoy them while they're there.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! :D
